What We Offer

We offer international volunteer projects for globally-minded individuals searching for a unique travel experience, combining service work with personalized tourism.

Croatia My Way offers you a more intimate service than a typical tour agent. We specialize in the perfect balance of volunteer work and sightseeing. With our experience in Croatia’s tourist industry, we have the personal contacts and the latest information to streamline your trip and fulfill your most treasured vacation dreams. We make Croatia an easy destination with a unique blend of work and leisure, education and cultural immersion. We specialize in turning your wishes into reality. Our groups usually range between 15 and 30 people, including chaperones. Chaperones travel free. We recommend 10-15 days for service work, and to get a reasonable taste of our land and the people.

And last but not least, the fun. Our projects have a built-in element of fun, by working with children in interesting settings like rebuilding playgrounds and working in schools. Our other projects are set in wildlife sanctuaries where volunteers are able to care for and play with many of the animals on hand.

Aside from being in a foreign country, we take the extra step to really enhance the travel experience. Rather than stay and volunteer in one location, we tour the country by bus and stop at different projects along their journey. Each project brings a different landscape, challenge, volunteer group and community base.

Another crucial component of our trip is the cross-cultural experience and learning about Croatia. Like the service, this is a rare experience and opportunity – to see a country from a completely non-tourist perspective. In addition to sightseeing, we offer educational activities, team building and workshops. Meeting local students and learning about their lifestyle and culture is a unique way of discovering a place.

Team members will have free time in the afternoons – a great opportunity to explore different towns in small groups, to try local foods or shop for souvenirs.

On a service trip, bonding within the team comes naturally, but combined with team-building activities and a sense of making a difference, it is a truly life-changing experience, which in turn creates lasting friendships and great memories.

Our cross-cultural immersion includes:

  • local ‘slow-food’ meal
  • a ‘quiz-dinner’ about Croatia with local students
  • workshops and presentations
  • meeting local peers

Travelling to another country requires a lot of resources and preparation, particularly when it comes to volunteer work. We personally hand pick and visit each service site before the team arrives, to ensure a consistently high-quality, meaningful service work. We have established relationships with our hosts since 2004. Our programs are fully funded by participant fees, and host project organizations are never asked to contribute to or absorb the direct costs associated with receiving a volunteer.

All of our service projects focus on uncommercialized, environmental issues and preservation of plant and animal species. We work with local groups and volunteers, and focus on raising awareness about environmental issues among students. The environment is one of our foremost concerns.

Regardless of the service work you choose, we will build sightseeing and group activities in those areas. All of our work sites are located in amazing natural environments, in the proximity of national parks, historic sites and picturesque towns.

Safety

Safety is our number one priority at Croatia My Way. We employ reputable and experienced trip leaders, carefully scout all new locations, hotels and activities, and watch for any changing political situations that may challenge our safety standards.
