Traveling to Croatia has been an incredibly life-changing experience for me. Not only was I affected by exploring a new country and culture, but the opportunities that this trip provided played a big part in my experience. I was given the chance to travel to different parts of the country, taste local food, enjoy breath-taking scenery and learn about Croatian culture. Moreover, I was able to work hand-in-hand with the people of Croatia on service projects while enjoying my trip. It was very rewarding that I was able to help and make a difference during my trip.

In Croatia, I created memories I will never forget. The friendships made with the Croatian students and the friendships strengthened with Culver students truly made my experience unique. Not many American teenagers can say they travelled to Croatia. We lucked out – despite service work every day, we visited over 15 cities, and with Mrs. Štefanić’s firsthand knowledge, the trip served as an excellent introduction to Croatian culture. We also had the opportunity to interact with local students our age while working on joint community service projects. Overall it was fantastic trip, and I would recommend it to anyone!

The Croatia mission trip significantly impacted my high school career and adult outlook on life. It was definitely a life-changing experience. I signed up as a high school freshman with a limited perspective of the world outside the US.
